Poster with a punch

This screen-printed poster (the frame is faux!) is a cheeky tribute to the vintage version that was posted around Britain during World War II.

It comes in a variety of colors and cost 20 pounds plus shipping and tax. Click here to visit the British-based site and see its other quirky art work.

New Ikea fabrics

I have a love-hate relationship with Ikea's textiles department.

Every time I see the super cheap and insanely stylish fabrics I swoon, but also getting the nagging urge to reupholster my entire living room!

This weekend was no exception when I got a look at the new "Petronella" collection. The bold motifs are totally mid-century inspired with a fresh attitude, kind of like Trina Turk's playful fashion collections.

Bottom line: they're only $5.99 a yard. For a closer look, click here.

Pennywise prints

I'm all about affordable art. But I get flat out giddy about good, cheap art.

That's how I feel about these 8-by-10 inch prints by artist Anne Harwell. Not only would they look great on a wall, but the nicely decorated rooms portrayed are inspirational too.

They're only $20 each plus $5 for shipping at http://www.etsy.com/. Click here to be directly linked and here to visit the artist's awesome blog.

Venetian mirror sale

JCPenney currently has these two Venetian-style mirrors marked down to $149.99 each.

Either one would look lovely above a mid-century modern credenza or white pedestal sink.

Click here to chem them out.

Take a seat

I just ordered one of these "Sally" stools for my bathroom. Not only are they a sturdy spot for tossing your towel or burning a candle, but they're perfect for sitting on to apply makeup.

Come summertime, just put the water-resistant plastic piece outside to rest a margarita on or to plop up your feet. They're $65 at http://www.chiasso.com/

Artsy home site

I know this handmade Grecian-style headband isn't exactly home related, but I loved it so much I wanted to tell the world about it. And, luckily, it's from a site that also sells groovy decor.

It's called www.ferdinandhomestore.com. Everything from screen-printed hand towels to hippie head gear is available and for super-low prices.

This velvet headpiece -- the perfect cocktail party accessory -- is only $7!

Room to love

Today I'm debuting a regular feature on this blog dubbed "Room to love."

There might not be anything particularly newsy about the space, other that I think it's inspirational and that we should all take a look to ooh and awe.

As an added bonus, I'll scout for a few of the room's best decor duds and let you know where to score them.

Embroidered "Rena" pillow, $49.95, CB2
Ceramic orange lacquered lamp, $99.99, Target
Wool flokati rug, $149, World Market

Earth-friendly throws

These days, it's so much easier to live light on the earth and not sacrifice style. These throw blankets by In2Green are the perfect example.

All of the eye-popping nature-inspired designs are made in the US from recycled pre-consumer fibers that have no additional dyes or harmful chemicals weaved into them.

They're $125 and available at the green Brooklyn-based site http://www.vivavi.com/ or by clicking here.

The new "It" lamp

All bets are in: Pottery Barn's new "Milk Glass" table lamp will be the hottest light fixture this spring.

The colorful bases come in five fresh colors and with a multitude of shade choices. Prices start at $90 a pop; click here for more.

Surf this e-shop!

During one of my regular eBay searches recently, I stumbled upon a groovy German-based seller that has everything from vintage wallpaper (like the retro-fabulous one above!) to hard-to-find furniture.

His prices are really reasonable too! Click here to check out his appropriately named e-shop "Vintage Retro Store."

Cool concert art

Tired of looking at your ratty old rock concert poster from the '90s? Log onto http://www.option-g.com/.

I have a major crush on the site's vintage-looking posters like the one above. Best of all, most of them cost $15 to $20, not bad for a stylish piece of art!

Fashionable pillows

The spring runways were filled with abstract floral and painterly prints including those from Dries Van Noten, one of my fashion faves.

CB2 must feel the love as well. The cheap-and-cool company's new "Reed" pillows have the same stylized paint stroke sensibility. Luckily, the retailer's prices are far from high-fashion; the pillows are only $26.95 a pop.

A peek inside Rachel Zoe's home!

A-list celeb stylist and budding author Rachel Zoe and her husband (above) are selling their Hollywood Hills house. The flawless 1950's ranch is on the market for a cool $3 million.

I know that's anything but cheap, but I couldn't resist showing my readers her amazing place. We should all learn from her highly restrained living room's style (above) that mixes sleek furnishings with fashionable accents.

Calypso deal

I've blogged about Calypso's pom pom blankets before -- I think they are super cute and cozy.

Right now when you buy one of the blankets you get one of the retailer's 10 signature candles, which are normally $38, for only $18. My fave is the "Mimosa"...

100th blog!

In celebration of my 100th blog (whoo hoo!!!) I wanted to share some of my favorite tunes that always put me -- and my pad -- in sassy spirits.

First is surfer stud musician Jack Johnson. He just released a new album last week and it's amazing! Click here to buy the sweet laid-back set.

If you love him as much as I do than you'll also dig Donavon Frankenreiter. Some friends introduced me to him while on a surf trip in Montauk this summer and I haven't stopped listening to the him since. Click here to order his beachy bluesy album, which is the perfect pick me up.

The "S" factor

I think this "S" chair (based off of Verner Panton's 1968 "Panton" chair) is the perfect kitchen table partner. It's shiny plastic is spill-friendly and comes in several colors to make an all-white kitchen pop.

Right now, http://www.moderndose.com/ is offering the deal of the century through Domino magazine on these $265 pieces of eye candy. Just enter "domino" at checkout online and you'll receive two chairs (in the same color) for the price of one!

Cool chair!

I love World Market. My apartment is filled with stemless cocktail glasses and hard-to-find coffees from the store among many other of its cheap finds.

If I had enough space, the retailer's $199 (originally $399!) embroidered "Basanti" chair would be added to my mix as well. I adore this accent piece because it has a warm well-traveled vibe thanks to its ethnic-inspired style.

Starting today, Calico Corners is hosting its annual January Clearance Event. Save up to 60-percent on the retailer's fabrics, 15-percent on upholstered beds (I've always wanted one of these!) plus discounts on furniture, trim, hardware and accessories.
