Martha cuts a rug

Martha Stewart has a million collections out there. It's only natural that she added another with hip modular carpet company FLOR.

Thank goodness, because her namesake collection with the cool company doesn't only work for homes with a traditional sensibility like most of her other lines. There are nine color waves, several textures and even bold patterns like the "Needlepoint Stripe" above.

Best of all you can work the carpet "tiles" to make any sort of floor covering -- runner, rug, wall-to-wall carpet -- to fit your needs. Visit to start shopping.

DWR freebie -- almost

I've always loved Piet Boon's iconic "BeeBoard" desk. But until recently it was usually $700 or more, for the real thing at least.

Right now Design Within Reach is clearing out the classic piece and giving it away for $339 . They'll even ship it to you for free -- just visit

Weekend project

We all have an old scarf tucked deep in our drawers that we just can't toss. Or a dress, skirt, even a vintage linen napkin.

I made use of this graphic designer scarf by turning it into a pillow. You can too by just sewing your beloved misfit to a piece of suede or cotton and stuffing it with an insert.

Make it look fancy for about $50 by taking it to a pro. Have him or her add piping to the edges to make it super posh.
