Chic candle for cheap

My friends and I are all huge fans of DayNa Decker candles.

The company, which is named after it's former-model founder, has earned big buzz lately for its sleek styles and crackle-happy wood wicks.

RedEnvelope has cut prices on the brand's "Couture" Jacaranda Blossom candle that normally costs $88 a pop.

Right now, the hefty 16-ounce sleek black sculptural style (it burns up to 100 hours!) is only $70. Plus, the site is offering 15-percent off purchases of $50 or more with the code SPRINGSAVINGS at checkout.

That makes the candle only $59.50! Click here to buy it now.

Warhol for pennies

Just in time for spring, CB2 introduced these adorable butterfly appetizer plates courtesy of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Be sure to collect all four psychedelic color combos -- they could be valuable one day! Even though they only cost $1.95 each. Gotta love CB2...

Thrown pillow

Did anyone see Barbara Walters' special about the royal family on Monday night?

I loved it! Here's a cheeky pillow to honor the Queen. It's $69 at Modern Dose.

Destination: Alessi

I'm back! So sorry for the lack of posts lately, I was in the hospital with appendicitis last week and have been recovering ever since.

But I'm much better now and happy to start blogging again. The first thing I want to tell you about is an exclusive sale of Alessi products at www.momastore.org.

For the next few weeks, the MoMA Store is hosting Destination: Alessi, a limited-edition selection of products from the iconic Italian brand available only at the store and its online shop.

One of my favorites is this "Round Wire Bowl" for $85, which was originally designed in 1951. Not only is the price right for a piece of design history, but it's a small object of art for the home.

Many of the items from the sale are in the museum's permanent collection, after all.

Lovely Sofia

Target just introduced this Hollywood Regency style black-and-white rug.

It's called the "Sofia" and starts at only $59.99 for the smallest size. Although the biggest version (8-by-10 feet) costs $799, it's a much cheaper option than installing new carpet in a room!

My new crush

I looove these "heirloom worthy" pillows!

They're available on the most adorable site, www.alenahennessy.com.

Each pillow is only $60, click here to buy one now.

Wisteria sale

Many interior designers love to add an Asian decor element in the home. The ethnic piece, particularly in red, is unexpected and chic in just about any decor.

Unfortunately, we can't all afford a Chinese armoire. But most of us can invest in Wisteria's "Snappy Red Cabinet" that's on sale for only $219.

That's a 33-percent savings from its original price. Click here to check it out.

CB2 vs. Ikea, you be the judge

Is it just me, or does CB2's new Halogen credenza look just like Ikea's longstanding Torsby sideboard? (CB2's is on the top, Ikea's is on the bottom.)

While flipping through the new CB2 catalog this weekend I was shocked when I saw the resemblance. I happen to own the Torsby, maybe that's why I noticed.

Either way, they are both great pieces. The slick white finish, easy-to-slide drawers and convenient hole in back make them the perfect flat screen stand or dining room buffet.

Just for the record though, the Ikea version is the better deal at $299. The CB2 credenza will put you back $499.

Vase time

One of my best friends and mom both say a favorite gift they've received is a set of bud vases.

I know they mean it because any time I visit their homes, the vases are usually out with pretty store bought stems or something sweet from the garden.

So, in their honor, I've posted these collections from Red Envelope that I think are totally their style. The first is a set of three contemporary cubes for $32; the second is six jewel-tone vases for $40.

Talk about the perfect hostess gift. Click here to check them out.

Message board

I've always adored these handblown glass chalkboard vases.

Right now Chiasso has them on sale for $35 each -- that's almost 50-percent off! Click here to order one now.

P.S. They even come with chalk!

We can't all afford a Missoni dress. But for a fraction of the price, we can own one of the fashion brand's haute home frills.

Ikea channels Bertoia

Ikea just introduced this handwoven "Ange" chair for spring.

It has a similar vibe as Bertoia's iconic mid-century diamond-shaped wire chair. But instead of costing you an arm and a leg, will only put you back $129.
